About the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois

Bar associations are groups of legal professionals that promote the interests of their members and facilitate social, educational, and philanthropic events and initiatives. Founded in 1914, the WBAI is one of the oldest and largest bar associations in Illinois, working with legal professionals in Cook County and beyond.

The WBAI was founded to stand for the interests and rights of women, advocate for equity and justice in the legal system, and promote legislation for the common good. It welcomes individuals of all genders involved in the legal profession, including attorneys, new bar admittees, law students, government attorneys, and non-profit attorneys.

Through its mentorship programs, member resources, and events, the WBAI promotes legal excellence, work-life balance, community building, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. It also celebrates the accomplishments and diverse backgrounds of women working in law in Illinois and the Chicago area.

Molly Condon Wells named Secretary of Membership

In 2024, Molly was named the WBAI Secretary of Membership for the 2024-2025 term. In this executive leadership role, she works with the Board of Directors to attract new members, manage member benefits, and facilitate outreach.

Molly’s appointment follows several years as a member with WBAI. She has served on the Board of Directors since 2022 in a variety of capacities, including the Co-Chair of the Annual Dinner, the Top Women Lawyers in Leadership Awards Reception, and the Annual Golf Outing. Drawing attendees from Cook County and across the state, these networking events celebrate outstanding women in the law, build community in Illinois legal circles, and raise money for philanthropic causes.

During her time with the WBAI, Molly has also served on the Legislative/Amicus Curiae Committee and the Judicial Reception Committee and worked with board members to advance the interests and welfare of women working in the law in Illinois.

Get to know Molly

Molly has dedicated her career to advocating for the rights of people harmed by large corporations and powerful organizations. She holds leadership roles on the Tepezza and hair relaxer lawsuits, shaping the course of the litigation through fierce advocacy and legal strategy. Her hard work has been recognized both by her peers and by outside organizations—Molly has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star, a Best Lawyers One to Watch, and an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers.

As the lead attorney on Wallace Miller’s Survivor Advocacy practice area, Molly stands up for the rights of survivors against multinational corporations, religious organizations, medical providers, and other institutions. “For most people, this is the worst thing that’s ever happened to them,” Molly says of working on these cases. “To be able to give them some sort of closure or resolution—I think that’s truly the best part of this job.”

The last few years have been transformative for Molly both personally and professionally. She became a partner at Wallace Miller in 2022, received appointments on leadership committees for multiple major litigations, and was named Secretary of Membership for the WBAI. In 2024, she also welcomed a new baby. “Relatively speaking, I’m still early in my career, and I’m the only woman partner at the firm,” Molly says. “I have encountered both opportunities and challenges because of that, but I have always focused on the wonderful opportunities given to me to help me succeed. When I became a mom, it motivated me to show up as the best version of myself both as a lawyer and for my family.”

In addition to her work with the WBAI, Molly is a board member of Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth, served as the Vice President of Events on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society‘s Associate Board, and works with the Women’s Caucus of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA). In Illinois circuit court and beyond, she has represented thousands of clients while mentoring young lawyers and fighting for a fair justice system.
